Manual Lymphatic Drainage

The lymphatic system is one of the key components of our immune system. Its primary function is the removal of toxins and waste from the body. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) stimulates the flow of lymph fluid to align the lymphatic systemwith the natural rhythm of the body boosting your immunity.

When the lymphatic system is working effectively, you are better equipped to:

• fight colds

• resist allergens and alleviate sinus issues

• reduce edema (fluid buildup and swelling)

• experience an overall sense of well-being

The pressure used during the application of MLD is lighter than what you may be used to when receiving other hands-on treatments and self-care techniques can be taught for home use. While this technique may benefit almost all people, it is especially helpful for those dealing with lymphedema (swelling caused by a lymphatic system blockage) due to medical conditions, pregnancy, or postoperative side effects

There were a number of benefits...

There were a number of benefits I noted as a result of my experience with massage treatments. The most notable physical benefit was the
relaxation of stiff muscles. Most notably my calves were extremely
tight as a result of compensating for degenerative musculature in both
my hamstring and quadriceps muscle groups. The massage therapy greatly decreased the stiffness and pressure in this area. I also noticed that the massage therapy helped alleviate stiffness associated with swelling around my ankles as a result of decreased muscle movement. (ALS patient)
